Slamson, the Sacramento Kings mascot...will be performing during the ENMU doubleheader with Harding University on Thursday, December 4. Slamson is making a return performance from last season (January 16). Game time for the Zias is 5:30 pm, while the Greyhounds are scheduled for a 7:30 pm tipoff.

Ticket Price Adjustments...General admission tickets for Greyhound and Zia basketball games in December will be $4.00 for Adults (age 13 and over) and $2.00 for kids under 12 to kindergarten age.

Seasons tickets are still available for reserved seating at $35.00 for all Greyhound and Zia basketball games.

The Greyhounds (3-4)...are still working out the early season kinks. ENMU was 1-2 last week with a home win over New Mexico Highlands and two losses in the Pikes Peak Classic at UC-Colorado Springs.

Senior post Angel Gutierrez (Fabens, Texas) had a solid game in the Hounds' 74-57 win over NMHU. Gutierrez had 18 points and 7 rebounds. Sophomore Coby Greenwalt (P, Clovis) also had 7 rebounds for the Hounds, while junior Craig Ferris (Ethete, Wyo.) had 6.

The Hounds struggled in the Pikes Peak Classic losing to host UCCS (79-67) and Colorado School of Mines (69-64). Sophomore guard Matt Vail (Grants) had a solid weekend with 22 points on Friday and 28 on Saturday. Against CSM on Saturday, Vail shot 10 of 16 from the floor, including 6 of 9 from three-point range. Greenwalt had a strong performance as well with 20 points and 8 rebounds against UCCS and 6 points and 7 rebounds against CSM.

Vail is leading the Hounds in scoring through the first seven games of the season with 18.9 points per game. He also leads the team in three point field goals (19), free throw shooting (83.3%) and steals (8). Gutierrez leads the team in rebounds with 5.9 per game.

Hounds in LSC Stats(12/1)...Team: scoring defense (1st); 3-point field goal percentage (8th); rebounding margin (5th); Individual: scoring - Matt Vail (8th); free throw % - Matt Vail (10th); 3-point made - Matt Vail (4th); 3-point % - Aaron Buckmister (8th).

This Week's Opponents...the Greyhounds play New Mexico Highlands for the second week, this time in Las Vegas on Tuesday before wrapping up Lone Star Conference-North Division action on Thursday and Saturday against new LSC members Harding University and Ouachita Baptist University from Arkansas.

The NMHU Cowboys are 1-4 coming into Tuesday's game. They lost last week to ENMU, 74-57 and West Texas A&M, 87-64. Last week Tony LaCour had 16 points against the Hounds, while Jeremy Trujillo had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Chris McGill was the leading scorer for NMHU against West Texas with 16. Miguel Tittman was the leading rebounder with 10.

Harding University will be playing their first away game of the season on Thursday. The Bisons are 4-1 in their home arena. Senior guard Carlton Bryant (St. Petersburg, Fla.) leads the team in scoring with 15.6 points per game. Louis Bonner, a senior forward from Scott, Arkansas, is the Bisons top rebounder with 5.8 per game. Bryant and Bonner shoot 63.0% and 71.9% from the floor, respectively. Harding's only loss of the season was a 101-100 overtime game with Abilene Christian.

Ouachita Baptist University is 3-2 going into Monday night's game against Williams Baptist College. The Tigers will play West Texas A&M on Thursday before coming to Portales on Saturday. OBU is led by junior guard Mitchell Bolding from Benton, Arkansas. Bolding is averaging 14.8 points per game. Junior forward Edleawn Barton (Sr. John's, Antigua, West Indies) leads the team with an 8.3 rebounding average.

On the Airwaves...107.5 KSMX-FM will be broadcasting all of the Greyhound basketball games. Don Elder and Travis Barger will handle the play-by-play and color commentary for all ENMU home games. KSMX will pick up feeds of the Greyhound road games whenever possible.

Weekly Radio Show...Don Elder will also be hosting the ENMU Coaches Show on 107.5 KSMX-FM every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm from Juanito's Restaurant on Avenue C in Portales. Different ENMU coaches will join Elder to give updates on the progress of their teams throughout the winter and spring.

SportsLook...will broadcast on KENW-TV Channel 3 on Thursday nights. The show, hosted by Dallan Sanders,will take a break for finals week and the holidays. The show will resume when classes resume in January. Sports Look is an ENMU student-run production.

Coming Up...the Hounds are off until January 2, 1998 when they host Southwestern Assemblies of God College at 7:00 pm in Greyhound Arena.
