Saturday pre-match festivities...Prior to the start of Saturday night's match against Midwestern State, two volleyball players and a student trainer will be introduced before participating in their final regular season match.

Volleyball Players:

Tara Dougherty, Outside hitter, 2-year player, Clovis, New Mexico

Stacey Estlund, Setter, 2-year player, Clarkston, Washington

Student Trainer:

Marisol Payen, 4 years, Portales, New Mexico

Estlund breaks 11-year old record...In the second game of the October 25 match against Abilene Christian, senior setter Stacey Estlund (Clarkston, Wash.) broke Zia great Barbara Lynn's career assist record of 2,165 that was set in 1986. Estlund will add to the record with five regular season matches and the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament left in 1997.

Estlund is currently third on the season assist list with 1,109. She needs 68 assists to break the season record of 1,176 assists set by Brandi Reynolds in 1995. She already holds second place with her 1,153 assists last season.

The Zias (16-13, 5-5 LSC South)...had a five-match winning streak broken on Saturday when they lost to Texas A&M-Kingsville, 15-3, 15-12, 15-13. They are now in a tie for second place in the LSC-South with Texas A&M-Kingsville, who holds the head-to-head tiebreaker for the tournament with two wins over ENMU. Teams advancing to the Lone Star Conference Championship Tournament next week will be determine by the end of this Saturday's competition.

This Week....the Zias host Tarleton State University on Friday. The TexAnns are 14-11 overall and 4-6 in the LSC-South. Midwestern State University comes in on Saturday evening for the final match of the regular season. The Lady Indians are 9-21 overall and 2-8 in the LSC-South.

Injury report...freshman hitter Jessica Crawford (Clovis) torn her left hamstring in the first game of the Abilene Christian match on October 25. Crawford is expected to miss the rest of the season.

The New LSC...The top three teams from each division will advance to the LSC Post-season Tournament on November 11, 13 and 15.

Coming Up for the Zias...will be the possiblity of hosting a first round match of the Lone Star Conference Tournament on Tuesday, November 11, if they finish in second place in the South Division, playing the #3 seed from the North Division. If the Zias finish third in the division, they will travel to the site of the #2 seed in the North Division, right now Central Oklahoma or Cameron.

Admission...is free to all Zia regular season home volleyball matches.

Domino's Pizza Giveaway...On Friday night the ENMU Silveradoes will be performing during the second and third games of the match. They will then give away the pizzas to the loudest cheering section during the third game. On Saturday, it will be the final time that contestants from the stands can test their serving abilities to win a Domino's Pizza.
