(Portales, N.M.) --- Ten Eastern New Mexico University football players were named to the Lone Star Conference-South Division Football Academic All-Conference Team released by the LSC office today. Eastern New Mexico had the most representatives on the team with 10. Northeastern State University led the North Division with 7 representatives.
Academic honorees:
Andy Cavalier - Sr., QB, Pampa, Texas, physical education major
Brian Cocking - Sr., K/P, Los Alamos, physical education major
A.C. Cuellar - Sr., DE, Weslaco, Texas, biology major
Isaiah Jackson - Sr., HB, San Antonio, Texas, chemistry major
Carson Joachim - So., WR, Richmond, Texas, business administration major
James Perez - Jr., LB, Albuquerque, sociology major
Cam Sanders - Sr., QB, Arlington, Texas, health education major
Joey Thomas - Sr., OT, Farmington, political science major
Michael Walton - So., LB, Earth, Texas, public relations major
Floyd White - So., LB, Pampa, Texas, nursing major
For Cocking, Cuellar and Sanders, this is the third time that they have been an all-LSC Academic selection. It is the second time for Cavalier (1996) and Perez (1995).
LSC academic honorees must carry a minimum 3.30 cumulative or previous two semester grade point average on a 4.0 scale and be a potential letterwinner.
