SCHEDULE CHANGES...the Zia tennis team has withdrawn from the University of Central Oklahoma Tournament this weekend due to numerous injuries to squadmembers. Their next competition will be in the Lone Star Conference Tournament next week in Abilene, Texas.

Zia Softball (20-23-1, 6-6 LSC-South)...play South Division leader Texas A&M-Kingsville this weekend on the road. The Javelinas, under head coach Julie Garcia, hold a one-game lead in the LSC-South Division standings at 5-3. The Zias are currently in a three-way tie with Abilene Christian and Tarleton State for second place. This will be the final weekend of LSC-South regular season competition for the Zias. The LSC Championship Tournament will be May 1-2 at the site of the North Division champion. Top two teams from each division advance to the tournament.

Senior first baseman Jennifer Doolittle (Aurora, Colo.) continues to tear up opponents from the plate. Doolittle leads the team in hitting (.464), hits (64), runs (45), RBI (56), doubles (13), triples (7), home runs (5), and walks (16). She has only struck out 4 times in 138 at bats.

Sophomore second baseman Julie Smith (Albuquerque) has made her presence known in her shortened season. Smith is second on the team in hitting at .375 and has a fielding percentage of .951 in 19 games. She missed the first month of the season due to the overlap with basketball. Smith was the starting point guard for the Zia basketball team this season.

Greyhound Baseball (17-26, 1-7 LSC-South)...sophomore pitcher Greg Stimack (Lakewood, Colo.) picked up his first win of the season and in LSC-South competition for the Greyhounds this weekend against Abilene Christian over the weekend, beating the #18 team in NCAA Division II, 6-3. Stimack has been used sparingly this season as he continues to recover from elbow surgery from last season. Freshman outfielder/pitcher Chris Stewart (Albuquerque) picked up his second save of the season in the same game. Stewart also leads the team in hitting (.379) in limited plate appearances.

ENMU travels to Tarleton State this weekend. The Texans are currently 23-12 overall and 6-2 in the LSC-South going into Tuesday's games at Texas-Arlington.

Greyhounds in LSC Stats (4/14)...Team: Batting - 9th (.317); Pitching - 10th (7.52); Fielding - 8th (.944); Individual: Home Runs - Tyke Posey, 3rd (10); Doubles - Brian Cronk, 7th (14; Triples - Steven Heredia 3rd (4); Wins - Tim King, 4th (6-6); Innings Pitched - Tim King, 1st (83.1), Adrian Tapia, 2nd (74.1); Strikeouts - Tim King, 6th (55), Adrian Tapia, 9th (52); Saves - Chris Stewart, 8th (2).

KSEL-AM 1450...will carry the Greyhound home baseball games on May 1 and 2. Don Elder will bring the play-by-play of all the Greyhound action.

The Greyhound football team will scrimmage Saturday morning, April 18 at 10:00 am at Greyhound Stadium. The ENMU Spring Football Game, wrapping up their spring training, will be Saturday, April 25, at 10:00 am at Greyhound Stadium.
