The Zias (0-3-1, 0-0 LSC-South)...under second-year head coach Hollie Chadwick, saw freshman center fielder Kim Paschall (Midland, Texas) put in a solid performance in her collegiate debut weekend. Paschall hit .429 in the lead off spot, scored two runs and had errorless play in the outfield. In her four-game hitting streak, Paschall had 2 hits in an 8-3 loss to Western New Mexico, followed by 1 hit in a 6-6 tie with the Lady Mustangs. Against NCAA Division I competition, she had a single against host New Mexico in a 15-1 loss and 2 hits against Texas Tech on Saturday in a 9-1 loss.

This Week...the Zias will participate in the Southern Colorado Thunderwolves Softball Invitational in Pueblo. The Zias will compete in pool play on Friday against host Southern Colorado, Adams State, and Colorado College. USC was 31-15 last season, under head coach Marty Blowers. Colorado College is a Division III independent from Colorado Springs. The Tigers were 6-21 last season. Adams State finished 21-18 last season.

Up Next for the Zias...will be a day trip to Texas Tech University on Wednesday, Feb. 18 for a doubleheader at 2:00 pm.

Weekly Radio Show...Don Elder will host the ENMU Coaches Show on 107.5 KSMX-FM every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm from Juanito's Restaurant on Avenue C in Portales. Different ENMU coaches will join Elder to give updates on the progress of their teams throughout the spring.
