The Greyhounds (7-15, 2-8 LSC-South)...stopped a seven-game losing streak last week with a 66-61 win over Texas A&M-Kingsville. Sophomore guard Matt Vail (Grants) led all scorers with 19 points. Junior Craig Ferris (Ethete, Wyo.) came off the bench for a team leading 8 rebounds.

Saturday, the Greyhounds played a close game with nationally-ranked Texas A&M-Commerce, losing 75-69, much closer than the 45-point pounding they took earlier this season in Commerce. Vail had 20 points for the Greyhounds, as their leading scorer for the eighth game in a row. Junior guard Chris Wilkerson (San Jose, Calif.) was the leading rebounder for the Hounds with 7.

Tonight, ENMU lost 75-63 against NCAA Division II #5 West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas. The Greyhounds had a 34-32 lead at halftime but were unable to hold on. (See box score)

Vail continues as the Greyhounds' top scorer with a 19 point per game average. Senior post Angel Gutierrez (Fabens, Texas) is the team's leading rebounder with 6.0 per game. He also has 16 blocked shots this season.

This Week....the Hounds play their final road games of the regular season. On Thursday they travel to Tarleton State University. The Texans are 17-5 overall and 8-2 in LSC-South play. They are led in scoring by Stephan Sheckles with 18.3 points per game, 22.0 ppg in conference games. Greg Austin leads the rebounders with 8.5 per game. TSU beat the Greyhounds 87-64 earlier in the season.

On Saturday, ENMU will visit Midwestern State University. The Indians are 10-12 overall and 2-8 in the LSC-South. Richard Johnson is MSU's top scorer with 19.7 points per game. Charlie Bennett is the top rebounder with 7.6 per game. MSU will be attempting to avenge an 87-81 loss to the Greyhounds earlier this season in Portales.

On the Airwaves...107.5 KSMX-FM will be broadcasting all of the Greyhound basketball games. Don Elder will handle the play-by-play for all ENMU home games. KSMX will pick up feeds of the Greyhound road games whenever possible.

Weekly Radio Show...Don Elder will also be hosting the ENMU Coaches Show on 107.5 KSMX-FM every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm from Juanito's Restaurant on Avenue C in Portales. Different ENMU coaches will join Elder to give updates on the progress of their teams throughout the winter and spring.

SportsLook...will broadcast on KENW-TV Channel 3 on Thursday nights. The show, hosted by Dallan Sanders, will resume this week. Sports Look is an ENMU student-run production.

Look Out for the Green Monster...ENMU students with a current I.D. can win a free chance to sit courtside on a big green couch at all remaining Zia and Greyhound basketball games. Domino's Pizza and Pepsi will be provided for those enjoying the view from the Green Monster.

Ticket Prices...general admission tickets for Greyhound and Zia basketball games are $4.00 for Adults (out of high school) and $3.00 for Kids kindergarten thru 12th grade. Under kindergarten age are free.
