Jennings wraps up Zia senior season

(Portales, N.M.)-- Senior guard Kim Jennings will be suiting up for her last regular season home game at Eastern New Mexico University on Saturday, February 21, 1998. Jennings has held a key support role on the Zia basketball team, coming off the bench to spell various front court players. This aspect of Jennings' game is relatively new. The 1994 graduate of Cibola High in Albuquerque, was recruited and played two years at the University of North Alabama as a post player.

Jennings decided to come back to New Mexico and attend ENMU because it is closer to home. "The fact that the team and the coaching staff are both good, influenced my decision as well," said Jennings. Upon coming to ENMU, coach Wayne Moore taught Jennings the position of guard. "She came here as a transfer, she learned a new position, and is a good role player in our program," Moore commented.

A human resource management major with a business administration minor, Jennings has high ratings for the educational aspects of ENMU. "Overall, this school is very good, I have learned a lot that will be useful to me in the future." After college, Jennings plans to pursue a career in business.

Jennings is a talented shooter and comes off the bench to add a three-point threat to the Zia arsenal, especially in close games. She is averaging 3.1 points per game, shoots 35.7% from three point land and has 19 assists for the season.
