The Zias (8-5, 2-2 LSC-South)...went 2-1 in three games in three days at home. On Thursday, the Zias beat Tarleton State 78-57. Freshman wing Brandi Bates (Plainview, Texas) had 13 points off the bench to lead the Zias. Senior post Leigh Dalluge (Tulia, Texas) had 8 rebounds, tops for both teams.

On Friday, the Zias beat Texas Woman's 86-71. Sophomore post Amanda Mendez (San Antonio, Texas) was the leading scorer with 19 points. Freshman post Katheryne Hickman (San Antonio, Texas) was the leading rebounder with 7. Mendez and junior wing Bria Norris (Amarillo, Texas) each had 6 rebounds. Junior guard Julie Smith (Albuquerque) had 8 assists on the night.

The Zias struggled on Saturday losing a close one to Midwestern State, 69-67. Three Zias scored in double figures - freshman guard Jennifer Dvorak (San Antonio, Texas) had 15, while Mendez and freshman post Bobbie Wallin (Moriarty) each had 14. Wallin led the Zias in rebounding with 7.

Mendez is the Zias leading scorer this season with 13.1 points per game. She is shooting 58.5% from the field. Dalluge is the team's leading rebounder with 5.6 per game. Smith has 50 assists to top the list, while Dalluge is ENMU's top blocker with 18.

This Week....the Zias begin a four-game road swing, starting this weekend at Abilene Christian and Angelo State.

Abilene Christian, under new head coach Wayne Williams, is 10-3 overall and 3-0 in LSC-South action. Sophomore center Jackie Bucher leads the Wildcats in scoring with 17.5 points per game. Senior forward Caroline Omamo is the leading rebounder with 8.3 per game.

Angelo State is 4-8 overall and 1-2 in LSC-South, under new mentor Sarah Edelbrock. Junior center Katrina Polnick is the Rambelle's leading scorer (15.0) and rebounder (6.8). The Rambelles have won more games this season than the past three years combined.

On the Airwaves...95.3 KSEL-FM will be broadcasting several Zia basketball games. Don Elder will handle the play-by-play for the ENMU home games. KSEL will pick up feeds of the Zia road games whenever possible.

Weekly Radio Show...Don Elder will also be hosting the ENMU Coaches Show on 107.5 KSMX-FM every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm from Juanito's Restaurant on Avenue C in Portales. Different ENMU coaches will join Elder to give updates on the progress of their teams throughout the winter and spring.

SportsLook...will broadcast on KENW-TV Channel 3 on Thursday nights. The show, hosted by Dallan Sanders, will take a break for finals week and the holidays. The show will resume when classes resume in January. Sports Look is an ENMU student-run production.

Ticket Prices...Beginning in January, general admission tickets for Greyhound and Zia basketball games will be $4.00 for Adults (out of high school) and $3.00 for Kids kindergarten thru 12th grade. Under kindergarten age are free.
