The Greyhounds (6-9, 1-3 LSC-South)...had a rough road swing last week. Eastern New Mexico lost a makeup game with New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas on Tuesday, 75-52. Senior post Angel Gutierrez (Fabens, Texas) was the team's leading scorer and rebounder with 14 points and 7 rebounds.

The Hounds continued Lone Star Conference-South action with two losses to Abilene Christian and Angelo State. In the 90-71 loss to ACU, sophomore Matt Vail (Grants) led the team with 30 points and 8 rebounds. Saturday, Vail was the leading scorer again with 19 in the 66-63 loss to ASU. Sophomore Coby Greenwalt (Clovis) and junior Aaron Buckmister (Mesa, Ariz.) were the leading rebounders with 8 each.

Vail is the Hounds' leading scorer averaging 19.1 points per game and leads the team in steals with 20. He is the leading three-point shooter with 41 threes. Gutierrez is the team's leading rebounder with 6.4 per game. Junior Daryl Bickham (Alamogordo) leads the squad with 34 assists. Greenwalt leads the team in blocked shots with 9.

This Week....the Hounds continue with more road action this week. They take the Texas A&M swing to Kingville on Thursday and Commerce on Saturday.

The TAMUK Javelinas are currently 8-9 overall and 2-3 in the LSC-South. They suffered two losses last week to Tarleton State (64-63) and Midwestern State (107-91) on the road. Senior forward Des Stewart is their leading scorer and rebounder with 17.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

The TAMUC Lions are currently 12-3 overall and 4-1 in the LSC-South following their first conference loss on Saturday to Tarleton State, 72-61. They were the South Central Region representative to the NCAA Elite Eight last season.

On the Airwaves...107.5 KSMX-FM will be broadcasting all of the Greyhound basketball games. Don Elder will handle the play-by-play for all ENMU home games. KSMX will pick up feeds of the Greyhound road games whenever possible. Mike Smith will be the guest broadcaster from TAMUK on Thursday, while a feed will be picked of the TAMUC game on Saturday.

Weekly Radio Show...Don Elder will also be hosting the ENMU Coaches Show on 107.5 KSMX-FM every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm from Juanito's Restaurant on Avenue C in Portales. Different ENMU coaches will join Elder to give updates on the progress of their teams throughout the winter and spring.

SportsLook...will broadcast on KENW-TV Channel 3 on Thursday nights. The show, hosted by Dallan Sanders,will take a break for finals week and the holidays. The show will resume when classes resume in January. Sports Look is an ENMU student-run production.

Look Out for the Green Monster...the Green Monster is coming to Greyhound Arena on January 28! ENMU students with a current I.D. can win a free chance to sit courtside on a big green couch at all remaining Zia and Greyhound basketball games. Domino's Pizza and Pepsi will be provided for those enjoying the view from the Green Monster.

Ticket Prices...Beginning in January, general admission tickets for Greyhound and Zia basketball games $4.00 for Adults (out of high school) and $3.00 for Kids kindergarten thru 12th grade. Under kindergarten age are free.
