The Greyhounds (6-11, 1-5 LSC-South)...will try to stop a five-game losing streak this week following two more road losses. The Hounds lost to the Texas A&Ms last week, Kingsville on Thursday, 73-49 and Commerce on Saturday, 95-50.

Sophomore guard Matt Vail (Grants) was the leading scorer in both games with 13 against the Javelinas and 17 against the Lions. Senior post Angel Gutierrez (Fabens, Texas) had 10 rebounds against TAMUK, while juniors Craig Ferris (Ethete, Wyo.) and Aaron Buckmister (Mesa, Ariz.) each had 4 against TAMUC.

Vail continues to lead ENMU in scoring with 18.6 points per game, steals with 21, and three-point shooting with 42. Gutierrez leads the team in rebounding with 6.4 per game, and blocked shots with 9.

This Week....the Hounds get a break from Lone Star Conference action on Wednesday, when NCAA Division II independent Oklahoma Panhandle State comes to Greyhound Arena. The Aggies are 7-12 on the season, including an early season win over the Hounds in Goodwell, 68-56. Senior forward J.J. Johnson had 23 points and 10 rebounds for OPSU in the win.

Nationally-ranked West Texas A&M, 15-2 overall and 4-2 in LSC-South, crosses the border on Saturday for the first of a two-game series this season. The Buffaloes suffered their first losses of the season over the weekend at Texas A&M-Commerce, 76-73, and at Texas A&M-Kingsville, 69-65. WTAMU is led in scoring by senior post Donnell Harrison with 15.7 points per game. Junior post Rene Salomao leads the rebounding with 7.2 per game. Last week they were ranked #9 in NCAA Division II.

On the Airwaves...107.5 KSMX-FM will be broadcasting all of the Greyhound basketball games. Don Elder will handle the play-by-play for all ENMU home games. KSMX will pick up feeds of the Greyhound road games whenever possible.

Weekly Radio Show...Don Elder will also be hosting the ENMU Coaches Show on 107.5 KSMX-FM every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm from Juanito's Restaurant on Avenue C in Portales. Different ENMU coaches will join Elder to give updates on the progress of their teams throughout the winter and spring.

SportsLook...will broadcast on KENW-TV Channel 3 on Thursday nights. The show, hosted by Dallan Sanders,will take a break for finals week and the holidays. The show will resume when classes resume in January. Sports Look is an ENMU student-run production.

Look Out for the Green Monster...the Green Monster is coming to Greyhound Arena on January 28! ENMU students with a current I.D. can win a free chance to sit courtside on a big green couch at all remaining Zia and Greyhound basketball games. Domino's Pizza and Pepsi will be provided for those enjoying the view from the Green Monster.

Ticket Prices...general admission tickets for Greyhound and Zia basketball games are $4.00 for Adults (out of high school) and $3.00 for Kids kindergarten thru 12th grade. Under kindergarten age are free.
