NORTHEASTERN STATE DEFEATS ENMU GREYHOUNDS
TAHLEQUAH, OK — Junior guard Terence Lee scored 17 points for Northeastern State University, leading the Redmen to a 69-40 victory over Eastern New Mexico University, in a Lone Star Conference crossover game. NSU, from the LSC North Division, evened its record at 2-2. ENMU, from the LSC South Division, fell to 1-2 on the season. Crossover games do not count in the LSC divisional standings.

Northeastern State held a four-point lead, 21-17, with 8:10 remaining in the first half, but the Redmen outscored the Greyhounds, 13-4, the rest of the half. NSU outscored Eastern, 7-3, over the first 5:00 of the second half to take control of the game with a 41-22 advantage. Lee scored 13 of his 17 points in the second half. For the game, he was 6 of 10 from the floor, including 2 of 3 on three-point shots. NSU’s Rome Lucky, a junior guard, scored 8 of his 10 points in the second half.

The Redmen shot 45.6% for the game, while limiting Eastern New Mexico to just 25.5% from the field. ENMU’s top scorer was senior center Byrone Williams (Chicago, IL/Alaska Anchorage) with 9 points. He also grabbed a team-high 5 rebounds. Junior guard Matt Vail (Grants, NM/Grants H.S.) added 8 points for the Greyhounds.

NSU earned a 26-16 rebound margin in the second half to finish the game with 43-32 rebounding edge. Anthony McCurtis led the Redmen with 8 rebounds. Prince Barnes had 7 rebounds for NSU.

Eastern New Mexico is 1-1 on its current 5-game road trip. The Greyhounds return to action on Wed., Nov. 25, when they play New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, N.M. Tipoff is at 7:00 p.m. (MST). The Greyhounds finish the road trip at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs Classic, Nov. 27-28.
