CROSS COUNTRY
The ENMU cross country teams ran at the Wayland Baptist “Pioneer Stampede”, Sept. 19 in Plainview, Texas. ENMU finished in third place out of three teams in both the men’s and women’s races.

Team scores for the men were: South Plains College 22, New Mexico Highlands 33, and Eastern New Mexico 105. Team scores for the women were: New Mexico Highlands 17, South Plains College 41, Eastern New Mexico 94.

In the men’s race, Hunter Harris was the first ENMU finisher, clocking in at 29:24.72 for 13th place in the 8K run. Henry Varela achieved 21st place with a time of 31:31.60.

For the 2nd straight week, Mindy Clark was Eastern’s top finisher in the women’s race. She took 11th place after completing the 5K course in 23:58.47. Michelle Rice finished 16th with a time of 25:00.81.

UP NEXT FOR THE GREYHOUNDS AND ZIAS
The men’s and women’s cross country teams host the Enchanted Desert Cross Country Race on Sat., Sept. 26 near Greyhound Stadium. The men’s race begins at 9:00 a.m. and will be followed by the women’s race at 9:45 a.m. The stadium will be open, and fans may watch the races from the stadium seating.
