ENMU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL SIGNS THREE TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT
PORTALES,
NM Eastern New Mexico University head women’s basketball
coach Wayne Moore has announced the signing of three student-athletes
to National Letters of Intent. Two players are junior college transfers
and one is currently a high school senior. All three will join the Zias
this fall for the 1999-2000 season.
ENMU
has recorded 10 consecutive seasons with at least a .500 record, including
15-12 each of the past two years. Moore, who will be in his 20th season
next fall, has led the Zias to 15 seasons at .500 or better during his
19 years at the university.
EASTERN
NEW MEXICO SIGNINGS THROUGH APRIL 21, 1999
Missy Frazier — Guard/Forward, 5’8”
Transfer from South Plains College (Levelland, Texas), Originally from
Levelland, Texas (Levelland H.S.). She will graduate from SPC later
this spring. She redshirted one season and played one season at South
Plains, so she will be a sophomore in terms of eligibility in 1999-2000.
Frazier was named First Team All-Conference at SPC during the 1998-99
season. She played on Levelland’s State Championship team in 1996-97,
and was named All-State and earned State Tournament MVP honors.
Jody
Avent — Point Guard, 5’7”
Transfer from South Plains College (Levelland, Texas), Originally from
Stinnett, Texas (West Texas H.S.) She will graduate from SPC later this
spring. She played two seasons at SPC and was named to the All-Conference
Team in 1998-99. At West Texas High School, she was named Second Team
All-State, played in the TGCA All-Star Game, was named All-District
four times and was chosen District MVP as a senior.
Ginger
Armacost — Guard/Forward, 5’10”
Abernathy H.S. (Abernathy, Texas) Armacost was named First Team All-State
in 1998-99. She was chosen South Plains 2A MVP and was selected to play
in the TABC All-Star Game. She earned First Team All-District and First
Team All-Region honors each of the past two seasons. Armacost was named
District MVP in 1998-99.
