CENTRAL OKLAHOMA DEFEATS ENMU ZIAS FOR THIRD PLACE IN LSC UCO, ranked #13 in NCAA Division II, claimed third place in the LSC, while ENMU, ranked #24 in NCAA Division II, took fourth place. The original schedule for the LSC Team Tournament was changed due to the weather. The four quarterfinal matches were canceled, with the top four seeds playing each other in the semifinals. Abilene Christian defeated ENMU and Northeastern State defeated Central Oklahoma in semifinal action. ACU downed Northeastern State, 5-3, for the LSC Championship. Central Oklahoma won all three doubles flights led by Jana Vnouckova and Michaela Perlikova, who defeated Layla Turner (Fr., Casa Grande, AZ/Casa Grande Union H.S.) and Julie Stiles (Jr., Roswell, NM/Goddard H.S.), 8-3. The Bronchos also won two singles matches to clinch the team victory. Perlikova defeated ENMU’s Rozlyn Gorski, 6-1, 6-0 at #3 singles. Sharon Lauver of UCO defeated Makenzie McCravey, 6-0, 6-0 at #4 singles. Stiles recorded ENMU’s only team point, as she won #2 singles by default. The Zias concluded the LSC Tournament with a 19-8 overall dual match record. ENMU’s fourth place finish was its best since 1995-96, when the Zias took 3rd place. Saturday,
