PORTALES, NM — Former players Todd Wallis and Jabe Riley have been named student assistant coaches for the 1999 Eastern New Mexico football team, Head Coach Harold “Bud” Elliott announced today.

Wallis and Riley will be on hand when the Greyhounds arrive at ENMU on Aug. 11. The first day of preaseason practice is set for Aug. 13. Wallis was a four-year letterwinner for the Greyhounds. He played fullback, rushing for 575 yards. He gained 297 yards in 1996 and provided 162 yards in 1998. He was also a solid blocker, who helped open holes for Eastern’s tailbacks and halfbacks.
