PLACE FOUR PLAYERS ON LSC SOUTH HONORABLE MENTION LIST
The four ENMU players are junior post Amanda Mendez (5’11”, San Antonio, TX/Madison H.S.), sophomore post/forward Katheryne Hickman (6’0”, San Antonio, TX/Castle Hills First Baptist H.S.), sophomore post Bobbie Wallin (6’1”, Moriarty, NM/Moriarty H.S.), and junior guard/forward Sharon Max (6’0”, Kirtland, NM/Central H.S.). Mendez led the Zias with 11.9 points per game. She also hauled down 5.4 rebounds per contest. She finished the year with 923 career points (10th All-Time at ENMU) and 460 career rebounds. Hickman averaged 11.1 points per game, shot 50.0% from the field (112 of 224), and made 79.1% of her free throws (68 of 86). She scored a team high 11.6 points per game in Conference play. Mendez was named LSC South Division Player-of-the-Week on Nov. 15 and Nov. 22. Hickman was chosen LSC South Player-of-the-Week on Jan. 17. Wallin was Eastern’s top rebounder, with 180 rebounds in 27 games, an average of 6.7 boards per game. She tied for 7th in the LSC in offensive rebounds (2.73 per game). She scored 8.6 points per game and was a 73.8% free throw shooter (79 of 107). Max averaged 9.6 points per game and was the team’s top three-point threat. She converted 42 of 119 three-pointers during the season (35.3%). She ranked 11th in the LSC in field goal percentage during the regular season.
