ENMU WOMEN’S TENNIS TEAM SIGNS THREE TO NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT
PORTALES, NM — Eastern New Mexico University head women’s tennis coach Christine Blaeser has announced the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. All three players are high school seniors who will join the Zias this fall for the 1999-2000 season.

Blaeser has guided the Zias to three consecutive NCAA regional tournaments. In 1998-99, she led ENMU to its best ever record at 20-9. ENMU played 16 matches against nationally ranked teams, and advanced to the Midwest Regional title match. Eastern was ranked #19 in NCAA Division II.

EASTERN NEW MEXICO SIGNINGS
Sarah Salazar — 5’5”, Saint Pius X H.S. (Albuquerque, New Mexico) She was a four-year letter winner at Saint Pius X. As a senior, she was undefeated in doubles during the regular season and took first place in doubles at the Albuquerque City Championships and the Academy Invitational. She won the New Mexico Class AAA State doubles title this spring.

Lisa Weinman — 5’6”, West Mesa H.S. (Albuquerque, New Mexico) She played #1 singles and was chosen team MVP all four years at West Mesa H.S. She won the New Mexico Class AAAA singles championship this spring, and previously placed second in the State Tournament. Weinman was a three-sport athlete at West Mesa, and earned District 2-4A All-Academic honors in volleyball and basketball.

Mandy Wells — 5’4”, Pampa H.S. (Pampa, Texas) Wells was twice named All-District in singles and doubles. She also was chosen District MVP as a junior and a senior. She reached the Texas Regional semifinals in singles and helped Pampa reach the Regional semifinals as a team. Wells has received several academic honors and has graduated from Pampa with honors.
