EASTERN TO PLAY N.M. ALL-STARS IN EXHIBITION GAME ON FRIDAY
PORTALES, NM — The Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds will tune-up for the 1999-2000 season with an exhibition game against the New Mexico All-Stars at Greyhound Arena tomorrow (Fri., Oct. 12). Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. (MST).

The New Mexico All-Stars team is registered with the Amateur Athletic Union and includes mostly former college players who attended colleges and universities in New Mexico. ENMU also played the New Mexico All-Stars in an exhibition game last season.

The All-Stars defeated the Greyhounds, 83-76, as Marvin Johnson scored 17 points and Shawn Williams added 16 points. Last year’s All-Stars featured several former ENMU players. This year’s team doesn’t have any players from ENMU, but it does feature Scott Prichard, William Scott, Kelvin Scarborough and X. Shahunwa from the University of New Mexico. Scarborough is also the team’s coach.

Eastern New Mexico will open the regular season at Greyhound Arena on Fri., Nov. 19 against Oklahoma Panhandle State University. Tipoff is set for 7:00 p.m. (MST).
