GREYHOUND FOOTBALL AND ZIA VOLLEYBALL WRAP UP HOME SEASONS
PORTALES, NM — "Let's Mess With Texas" is the cry from the ENMU Athletic Department as the Greyhound Football team prepares to play the last home football game in the 20th century against arch-rival West Texas A&M University in the annual Wagon Wheel Game on Saturday, Nov. 6, 1 p.m. (Mountain) at Greyhound Stadium.

The regular price for general admission is $6, but for this special game, military personnel and dependants get in free with military I.D. Also, there is a special group pass available till Nov. 5 (for advanced sale only), that allows four people to be admitted for the group pass rate of $5. Students ages 18 and under also have free admission for the Wagon Wheel contest.

Each year when ENMU & WTAMU go head to head, the victorious team takes the coveted Wagon Wheel trophy home. WTAMU has held the trophy for the last two years, and the Hounds are ready to take it back. The trophy will sit on the hill by the scoreboard throughout the game, standing as a constant reminder of the fierce rivalry between the two Lone Star Conference schools.

The success of Greyhound Football in 1999 has been a treat for ENMU and football fans alike. The Hounds are currently 6-2, and earlier in the season they enjoyed a national ranking of 7th for several weeks.

To kick off the "Let's Mess With Texas" match-up, there will be a free tailgate party at the stadium beginning at 11:30 a.m. with free Buffalo Burgers from IGA & Buffalo Wings from Wagon Wheel Cafe and Pepsi One from ENMU Intramurals.

During the game, 50 lucky fans sitting in the home section (on the press box side) will receive free movie passes courtesy of the Portales Tower Twin Theater. One lucky person will win a trip for two to the Dec. 19 Denver Broncos vs. Seattle Seahawks game. The trip is the prize for the ENMU Athletics '99 Fall Fundraiser. Tickets have been sold for a $5 donation since August, and will be available at the west gate of the stadium (behind press box), till the end of the first quarter on Nov. 6.

After football, the Zia Volleyball team will be closing out the century of Zia Volleyball with another Texas school and LSC opponent, Texas A&M - Kingsville at 7 p.m., Nov. 6 at Greyhound Arena. During the volleyball match, "All-Century" and "All-Decade" teams will be honored. The Zias have invited many former players to come to the match and receive the awards. Admission is free for the game, and as usual, there will be mini-ENMU volleyballs and several Zia shirts given away throughout the match.
