LINDSEY DAVISON CHOSEN LSC SOUTH DIVISION SETTER-OF-THE-WEEK
SILVER CITY, NM — Eastern New Mexico University senior setter Lindsey Davison (5’8”, Kelso, WA/Columbia Basin College) has been chosen Lone Star Conference South Division Setter-of-the-Week. She received the award for her efforts at the Adams State College Fall Brawl, Sept. 3-4, in Alamosa, Colorado.

Davison helped ENMU earn a 3-1 record during the Fall Brawl. She provided 167 assists in the four matches, averaging 12.9 assists per game (13 games). She also achieved a .357 hitting percentage with 18 kills and just 3 kill errors on 42 total attacks. Davison provided solid defense as well, earning 39 digs (3.0 per game), 2 block solos and 3 block assists. She had 1 service ace.

At the conclusion of the tournament, Davison had 320 assists on the season, an average of 11.9 assists per game. She had earned 1,727 career assists at Eastern, including a school record 1,407 assists last year. Davison needed 686 additional assists to reach the ENMU career record of 2,393 set by Stacey Estlund (1996-97).

ENMU defeated Central Oklahoma, 13-15, 15-12, 15-6, 15-2, and lost to Western New Mexico, 14-16, 14-16, 14-16, on Fri., Sept. 3. On Sat., Sept. 4, the Zias swept College of the Southwest, 15-7, 15-7, 15-8, and took three consecutive games from Adams State, 15-6, 15-3, 15-9. The Zias are 7-2 on the season.

Eastern gets a rematch with intrastate rival Western New Mexico this coming Monday (Sept. 13), when the Zias travel to Silver City to take on the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. (MST).

The Zias open Lone Star Conference play at Texas A&M-Kingsville on Fri., Sept. 17 at 6:00 p.m. (MST).
