EASTERN NEW MEXICO RANKED SEVENTH IN NCAA DIVISION II FOOTBALL POLL
Last week, ENMU was tied for #7 with the University of New Haven (Conn.), but New Haven lost, 42-16, to UC-Davis and fell to #17 in the poll. New Haven was the only Top 10 team to lose during the weekend. ENMU improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Lone Star Conference with a 20-14 road win over previously 15th-ranked Northeastern State (Okla.). NSU fell to 2-2 and dropped out of the national rankings. Carson-Newman College (Tenn.) remained #1 with a 4-0 record and 79 points in the poll. Northern Colorado (4-0), Central Oklahoma (3-0), Slippery Rock (3-1), Nebraska- Omaha (4-0) and Tuskegee (3-0) stayed #2 through #6 respectively. Following ENMU at #7, the Top 10 is rounded out by Northwest Missouri State (3-1) at #8, UC-Davis (3-1) at #9 and Fort Valley State (5-0) at #10. The NCAA Division II Poll will be released weekly for the remainder of the regular season. A total of 16 teams — four in each of four regions — will qualify for the NCAA Division II Playoffs, which begin on Sat., Nov. 20. |
