ENMU Athletics to Participate in Canned Food Drive
PORTALES, NM - The Eastern New Mexico University Athletic department will be holding a canned food drive for the remaining home tennis, baseball and softball games in the 2000 season. The philanthropy project will begin at the Zia Tennis weekend promotion on Friday, April 7 & Saturday, April 8 at the Zia Tennis Courts.The matches begin at 2 p.m. both days.

The Tennis match on Friday will kick-off at 1:40 p.m. at the Zia Tennis Courts with a presentation to all ENMU Athletics' student-athletes in honor of the national Student-Athlete. The presentation will be followed by a picnic of free Weinerschnitzel chilidogs, and Pepsi.

Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and stay for the tennis match after the presentation when the Zias will be playing Western New Mexico University. During both day's matches, t-shirts, caps and up to $80 in groceries from IGA will be given away.

Currently, the Zias are undefeated at home, and ranked 14th in the nation. This is the highest ranking an ENMU Tennis team has ever achieved.

All donations received from this canned food drive will be given to the Consigning Women's Food Bank. Following are the remaining home dates for baseball, softball and tennis.
