ENMU DOUBLE-HEADER WITH WAYLAND BAPTIST
CANCELLED DUE TO FUNERAL FOR UMPIRE
PORTALES, NM — The double-header scheduled for today (April 11) between Eastern New Mexico University and Wayland Baptist University has been cancelled to allow game officials to attend the funeral of umpire Ryan Simmons in Longview, Texas. No make-up date for the double-header has been set.

Simmons was killed in an automobile accident Fri., Apr. 7. In addition to the funeral, a memorial service will be held at Obannon Field in Lubbock, Texas on Thursday (April 13) at 7:00 p.m. (CDT). NOTE: For more information regarding the memorial service for Ryan Simmons, contact David Carter at Lubbock Christian University.

Eastern New Mexico is currently 19-17-1 on the season. The Greyhounds will play at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas on Fri., Apr. 14 at 2:00 p.m. (CDT) and Sat., Apr. 15 at 1:00 p.m. (CDT). The game times at WTAMU are one hour earlier than originally scheduled. A double-header will be played each day, with all four games counting in the Lone Star Conference standings.
