JEFF THIBODEAUX NAMED
LSC SOUTH HITTER-OF-THE-WEEK
PORTALES, NM — Eastern New Mexico University first baseman Jeff Thibodeaux (Sr., Apple Valley, CA/Victor Valley College) has been named Lone Star Conference South Division Hitter-of-the-Week for the week ending Apr. 16. Thibodeaux helped the Greyhounds win 3 of 4 games in an LSC weekend series at West Texas A&M University.

Thibodeaux hit .467 during the week (7 of 15), while recording 6 RBIs and scoring 7 runs. He hit 3 doubles and 2 homers, with both home runs earned in the second game of the series, as ENMU won, 12-6. The Greyhounds also won the third game, 4-1, before outscoring the Buffaloes, 15-7, in the final game.

West Texas A&M opened the series with a 9-7 win. Thibodeaux started all four games and did not make an error at first base. He made 23 putouts and 1 assist for a 1.000 fielding percentage.

At the plate, he achieved a 1.067 slugging percentage. ENMU completed the weekend series with a 22-18-1 overall record. The Hounds were in second place in the LSC South at 9-5, and trailed only Tarleton State (11-5). Abilene Christian and Texas A&M-Kingsville were tied for third place at 9-7.

Eastern will host Abilene Christian this weekend in two important LSC double-headers. Action on Friday, Apr. 21 is set for 4:00 p.m. (MDT), with the second double-header scheduled for 12:00 noon (MDT) on Saturday, Apr. 22.
