JENNIFER HARRER NAMED It is the second time this season that Harrer has been chosen LSC Pitcher-of-the-Week. She also received the award for her efforts during the week ending Mar. 13. Harrer began the week by throwing a no-hitter against the University of Texas-Permian Basin. The Greyhounds won the game 8-0 on the run rule in five innings. Harrer did not throw against UTPB in the second game, but the Zias still registered another 8-0, five-inning, run rule win. Against TWU, Apr. 15-16, Harrer recorded two wins and earned her first save of the season. She struck out 8 batters in the opening game, helping ENMU achieve a 3-2 triumph. She won the second game in relief, 4-1. In the third game, she did not receive a decision, as the Pioneers took a 10-8 victory. Harrer earned her first save of the year in the fourth game, a 3-2 ENMU win. For the week, Harrer recorded 28 strikeouts in 24 2/3 innings pitched. She walked 3 batters, and allowed only 3 earned runs. She limited opponents to just 4 extra-base hits, all doubles. Harrer is 9-8 on the season with a 3.07 ERA. She leads the Zias with 104 strikeouts in 107 1/3 innings pitched. She has held opponents to a .269 batting average. ENMU is 24-22 overall and 5-7 in the LSC South. The Zias close out the regular season with a pair of double-headers at Abilene Christian on Friday, Apr. 21 and Saturday, Apr. 22. First pitch on Friday is set for 4:30 p.m. (MDT), with Saturday’s action slated for at 11:00 a.m. (MDT). The Zias need to win 3 or all 4 games to qualify for the LSC Tournament. |
