KEVIN IVERSON FROM ELGIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE SIGNS BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIP AT ENMU
PORTALES, NM — Kevin Iverson, a 6’2” guard from Elgin Community College in Elgin, Ill., has signed an athletic scholarship to play for the Eastern New Mexico University men’s basketball team. Iverson, the fourth junior college player signed by first-year Head Coach Shawn Scanlan, gives the Greyhounds a total of eight players who have signed scholarships for the 2000-01 season.

Iverson averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game this past season at Elgin Community College. He helped Elgin finish the year with a 17-15 overall record. Iverson has the skills to play either the point guard or the shooting guard position. His ability to play more than one position will be a strong asset, and will allow Scanlan to use a variety of lineup combinations. Iverson is originally from Chicago, Ill. He previously attended Near North High School in Chicago.
