LI’L HOUND POUND GROWLS AGAIN
PORTALES, NM — At the first Greyhound Football home game on Sat, Sept. 2 at 6:00 p.m., the sound of children will fill Greyhound Stadium as the Eastern New Mexico University Athletic Department & the ENMU Campus Bookstore team up again in 2000 to bring the kids of Roosevelt County the “Li’L Hound Pound” kids club. This club is limited to 100 youth, ages 12 and under, who are eligible to get a free t-shirt and free admission to all Greyhound Football games in the 2000 season. The shirts will be given away on a first-come-first-served basis.

“We’re really excited about this opportunity to involve area children with our teams, and it’s a great opportunity for families to enjoy the excitement of going to Greyhound Football games together,” Events Manager Jennifer Poyer said. “This, coupled with the KOBR Take a Kid to the Game Night will really give a chance for kids and families to come to enjoy the great atmosphere of Greyhound football.”

In addition, as a special for the first game only, the ENMU Campus Bookstore is also paying the gate admission for each child and up to two adults per child to get into the game free. “Supporting ENMU and student activities is a team effort. The campus bookstore takes pride in, and is committed to supporting this effort.” Bookstore Manager Jessie Luna said.

To register, parents should stop by the ENMU Campus Bookstore on the ENMU Main Campus in Portales, as soon as possible because only the first 100 entries will be accepted. Parents can also call Jessie at 562-2715.

“Li’l Hound Pound” kids club members are invited to run across the field before the game to help the Greyhounds open their season. For additional information call the ENMU Athletics Events Office at 562-2971.
