PRATT NAMED LSC South sports information directors voted for the All-Academic Team, choosing six student-athletes from 11 players who qualified for the LSC South Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Selections were based on both academic and athletic achievements. Pratt, a Biology major with a 3.72 cumulative grade point average, played in 13 matches and 16 games for the Zias during the 2000 season. She recorded 36 assists (2.3 average), 18 digs (1.1 avg.) and 2 total blocks. A four-year player for the Zias, she finished her career with 66 assists and 111 digs in 64 matches played (125 games). She was a quality student throughout her ENMU playing career. Student-athletes qualified for the LSC South Commissioner’s Honor Roll by earning at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average in all college level work and by completing a minimum of 24 semesters hours at their current college or university. In addition to Pratt, other Honor Roll selections named to the LSC South All-Academic Team were Jess Anne Fernandes and Brittany Bridge of West Texas A&M University, Lindsay DeHoff of Abilene Christian University, Jennifer Tucker of Angelo State University, and Amanda Wallace of Tarleton State University. Eastern New Mexico finished the 2000 season with a 26-11 overall record, including a 6-4 (3rd place) finish in the LSC South. The Zias qualified for the LSC Tournament, and reached the semifinals before losing to eventual champion West Texas A&M. Head Coach Mike Maguire improved his overall ENMU record to 295-173 (.630) during 14 seasons. |
