ZIAS SWEEP UT-PERMIAN BASIN, 9-4 & 8-0
ODESSA, TX — Junior shortstop Sarah Rempp (Greeley, CO/Central H.S.) hit two home runs and sophomore third baseman Rachel Mohler (Las Vegas, NV/Green Valley H.S.) added another, as Eastern New Mexico University defeated the University of Texas - Permian Basin, 9-4, in the first game on a double-header, Feb. 15 in Odessa, Texas.

ENMU won the second game, 8-0, on the run rule in 5 innings. The Zias improved to 6-4 with the victories, while UTPB dropped to 0-4. Junior pitcher Jennifer Harrer (Albuquerque, NM/Hope Christian H.S.) recorded the win in the first game. Junior pitcher Suzy Seitzinger (Bloomfield, NM/Bloomfield H.S.) threw a 1-hitter to earn the victory in the second game.

In addition to hitting a homer in the first game, Mohler pounded out a double in the second game. Enida Rosales (Sr., 2B, Glendale, AZ/South Mountain College) added a double in the opener. Erica Sussex (Jr., C, Bloomfield, NM/Bloomfield H.S.) and Michelle Delillo (So., OF, Albuquerque, NM/Cibola H.S.) doubled in the nightcap.

ENMU travels to Irving, Texas this weekend to compete in the Lone Star Conference First Pitch Tournament. The Zias will take on Central Oklahoma and East Central on Fri., Feb. 18. Eastern will play Northeastern State and Southeastern Oklahoma on Sat., Feb. 19.

The games — pitting LSC South teams against LSC North opponents — will not count in the LSC division standings.
