EASTERN NEW MEXICO AT WAYLAND BAPTIST BASEBALL DOUBLE-HEADER SUSPENDED BECAUSE OF RAIN
PLAINVIEW, TX — Wayland Baptist University was leading Eastern New Mexico University 5-3 in the bottom of the third inning, when the first game of a double-header was suspended due to rain, Mar. 7 at Wayland Baptist.

Eastern New Mexico will return to Plainview, Texas to resume the double-header on Thur., Mar. 16. WBU built a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, but ENMU rallied with three runs in the top of the third.

Andy Hostetler (So., CF, Albuquerque, NM/Valley H.S.), who had 2 hits in 2 at bats, drove in the first run with a single. Chris Stewart (Jr., LF, Albuquerque, NM/Manzano H.S.) drove in the last two runs for the Greyhounds with a double to center field.

The Pioneers regained the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Catcher Nate Culwell opened the inning with a double. Two outs later, first baseman Josh Utter hit a double to drive in Culwell with the go-ahead run. Second baseman Brad Eppler followed with another double, as Utter scored for a 5-3 WBU lead. Kurtis Klug beat out an infield grounder to put runners at first and third when the game was suspended.

Eastern New Mexico returns to action on Sat., Mar. 11 in a double-header at New Mexico Highlands University. The double-header gets underway at 12:00 noon (MST). ENMU and NMHU will also play at single 9-inning game on Sun., Mar. 12, starting at 1:00 p.m. (MST).
