ENMU EARNS TOP 10 RANKING
FOR VOLLEYBALL HOME ATTENDANCE
PORTALES, NM — Eastern New Mexico University finished the 1999 volleyball season ranked 10th nationally in NCAA Division II home attendance, according to figures gathered and released by the NCAA. Nebraska-Kearney led Division II with an average attendance of 835 fans per game. ENMU ranked 10th overall with an average of 455 fans at each home match.

The Zias drew 1,703 for their home match against Lone Star Conference South Division rival West Texas A&M on Oct. 12. It was the largest Division II crowd of 1999 to that point in the season. The crowd, which set an ENMU volleyball record, ranked fourth overall at the end of the 1999 regular season and postseason play.

The Zias earned a 26-10 overall record in 1999, as Head Coach Mike Maguire recorded his 11th consecutive winning season. ENMU went 8-4 in the LSC South (2nd place) and advanced to the LSC Tournament semifinals before falling to Cameron University in four games.
