BEARD NAMED LSC SOUTH OFFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK Beard carried the ball 18 times for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns. He scored on a 28-yard run early in the second quarter to complete a 13-play, 81-yard drive and give ENMU a 14-0 lead. He also scored on a 6-yard run on the first play following a TAMU-Kingsville turnover in the fourth quarter. Beard has rushed for 613 yards on 121 carries this season. He has gained 1,481 career yards in 20 games at Eastern New Mexico. The Greyhounds hold second place in the LSC South, and trail first place Angelo State (2-1) by percentage points. If ENMU wins its season finale at West Texas A&M University next Saturday (Nov. 4) and Angelo State loses one of its final three games, the Greyhounds will clinch at least a tie for the LSC South title. ENMU’s game at West Texas A&M is set to get underway at 1:00 p.m. (Mountain Time) in Canyon, Texas. It will be the 14th time the Greyhounds and the Buffaloes have met in the annual Wagon Wheel game. ENMU leads the Wagon Wheel series, 7-6, including a 24-16 win last season. The overall series is tied 7-7, including a WTAMU win in 1945, prior to the start of the Wagon Wheel series. |
