MARGIE GOBLE NAMED LSC SOUTH SETTER/DEFENSIVE PLAYER-OF-THE-WEEK
PORTALES, NM — Eastern New Mexico University freshman setter Margie Goble (5’8”, San Antonio, TX/Holmes H.S.) has been named Lone Star Conference South Division Setter/Defensive Player-of-the-Week for the week of Sept. 4-Sept. 10. Goble helped the Zias go 1-1 during the week, as ENMU lost to Abilene Christian University, 2-3, and defeated Angelo State University, 3-2.

Goble recorded 130 assists during the week, an average of 13.0 assists per game. She also contributed 39 digs, 11 kills, 4 block assists and 2 service aces. She earned a .385 hitting percentage, and played in all 10 games.

Her top performance came versus Angelo State. She earned 74 assists (14.8 avg.) against the Rambelles, while providing 22 digs (4.4 avg.) and 5 kills.

The Zias travel to Plainview, Texas on Tuesday, Sept. 12, to take on Wayland Baptist University. Match time at WBU is set for 6:00 p.m. (MST). The Zia volleyball team will then travel to Fargo, N.D. to participate in the North Dakota State University Tournament on Friday, Sept. 15 and Saturday, Sept. 16. ENMU will take on Bemidji State University (Minn.) and the University of Winnipeg (Can.) on Friday, and will play the University of North Dakota and host North Dakota State on Saturday.
