PORTALES, NM — Eastern New Mexico University senior center fielder Kim Paschall (Midland, TX/Midland H.S.) has been selected Lone Star Conference South Division Hitter- of-the-Week for the week ending April 22. She helped ENMU sweep all four games against LSC foe Abilene Christian (Apr. 20-21), as the Zias clinched the LSC South Division title with a 12-2 record. ENMU improved to 32-10-1 overall.

Paschall recorded 9 hits in 14 at bats for a .643 batting average during the week. She scored 6 runs and earned 9 RBIs. She hit a 3-run inside-the-park homer in the third game of the series, and pounded out 3 doubles during the week. Paschall also stole 3 bases on 4 attempts.

In Friday’s double-header, won by the Zias 8-6 and 12-4, she went 6 of 7 at the plate. She scored two runs in three of the four games in the series. ENMU completed the sweep by winning Saturday’s games, 10-6 and 4-0. Paschall’s outstanding week increased her season batting average to .306. In four years at Eastern New Mexico, she has provided a school record 203 hits, while setting another record with 132 runs scored.

ENMU, ranked #3 in the South Central Region of NCAA Division II, has qualified for its first ever LSC Tournament berth. The LSC Tournament will be held Apr. 27-28 at Southwest Park in Irving, Texas.

The Zias will open tournament action on Friday, Apr. 27 at 3:00 p.m. (MDT) against the winner of the first round game between Northeastern State University and Abilene Christian.
