LSC SOUTH HITTER-OF-THE-WEEK
Rachel MohlerPORTALES, NM — Eastern New Mexico University junior third baseman Rachel Mohler (Las Vegas, NV/Green Valley H.S.) has been selected Lone Star Conference South Division Hitter-of-the-Week for the week ending April 1.

Mohler helped the Zias earn a 3-1 record in an LSC weekend series against Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Mohler was 7 of 14 for a .500 batting average in the four-game series. She recorded at least one hit in each game, and had 2 hits in each of the final three games, leading ENMU to three consecutive victories. She scored 3 runs during the weekend, and provided 2 RBIs. She hit 1 double, received one walk and had no strikeouts.

For the season, she leads the Zias with a .393 batting average. She is tied for the team lead in doubles (8), is second on the squad with 5 homers and 17 RBIs, and is tied for second in runs scored (20).

ENMU lost the first game against TAMU-Kingsville, 11-2, on Friday, March 30. The Zias won the second game on Friday, 4-0, then swept a double-header on Saturday, March 31, winning the first game, 2-1 in 10 innings, and taking the second game, 5-0. Texas A&M-Kingsville, now 23-7 on the season, entered the weekend ranked #19 in the NCAA Division II Poll.

The Lady Javelinas were ranked #4 in the South Central Region, and ENMU was ranked #6 in the South Central Region. The Zias are now 20-7-1 on the season and 4-2 in the LSC South. ENMU plays in the Oklahoma City University Tournament on Friday, April 6, and Saturday, April 7, before taking on the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Okla. on Sunday, Apr. 8.

Mohler is the fourth ENMU player to receive LSC South Hitter-of-the-Week honors this year. The other winners were Sarah Rempp (Sr., C/SS, Marshalltown, IA/Greeley Central H.S.) on February 27, Dawn Murray (So., 1B/P, Carlsbad, NM/Carlsbad H.S.) on March 5, and Maegan Rhoten (Fr., OF/1B/P, Albuquerque, NM/St. Pius X H.S.) on March 26.
