LI'L HOUND POUND GROWLS AGAIN
PORTALES, NM — As in the past, at the first Greyhound Football home game on Sat, Sept. 8 at 6:00 p.m., the sound of children will fill Greyhound Stadium as the Li'l Hound Pound members will run across the field to open the Greyhound's season. The ENMU Athletics kids' club, dubbed the Li'l Hound Pound, is in it's third year and is better than ever.

The Li'l Hound Pound is limited to 100 youth, ages 12 and under, who are eligible to get a free t-shirt and, when they wear the shirt to any Zia or Greyhound game in the 2001-02 sports seasons, they will receive free admission. The shirts will be given away on a first-come-first-served basis.

Brand new benefits for Li'l Hound Pound members include receiving a birthday card from Ralph and Roxy, and a special "for members only" pizza party during basketball season. The get-in-free-to-games policy has also been expanded to include sports other than football. "Previously, Li'l Hound Pound members could wear their shirts and get in to football games for free. Now, they can wear their shirt to any Greyhound or Zia game and get in free." For the first football game only, two adults get in free with each child.

Parents can sign their children up by calling the ENMU Campus Bookstore at 562-2721 and giving the child's name, birth date and phone number to bookstore personnel. Parents must also give the adult(s) who will be attending the first football game with the Li'l Hound Pound member. Parents will be notified by telephone when the shirts are available for pick-up on-site at the ENMU Campus Bookstore.

"We're excited about this opportunity to involve area children with our teams, and it's a great opportunity for families to enjoy the excitement of going to Greyhound Football games together," Events Manager Jennifer Poyer said. "We're really promoting ENMU Athletics as excellent family entertainment, where the whole family can enjoy an evening out - together."

To register, parents should stop by the ENMU Campus Bookstore on the ENMU Main Campus in Portales, as soon as possible because only the first 100 entries will be accepted. Parents can also call Jessie at the ENMU Campus Bookstore at 562-2712.

"Li'l Hound Pound" kids club members are invited to run across the field before the game to help the Greyhounds open their season. Parents will receive further instructions and tickets for the game when they pick up their child's shirt at the ENMU Campus Bookstore.
