ENMU ATHLETICS PAYS CASH FOR TALENT "Karaoke is an exciting event when participants do it for free, but who wouldn't want to get on the gym floor and sing for only a minute and a half to win $25?" Event Manager Jennifer Poyer said. At each game, there will be three ticket winners chosen to go down on the gym floor and have only a minute and a half to prove that they deserve $25 cash. Only one out of three contestants will be the lucky winner. In each game program disbursed throughout the season, there will be a list of songs provided for the next week's karaoke competition to give fans a chance to practice their favorite songs. There will be a variety of songs from the Oldies-but-Goodies to new-age alternative, rock or pop. Song requests will also be accepted at each game for future games. "This promotion will give fans a chance to get on the floor and be part of the entertainment," Poyer added. "Karaoke is a fun activity for people of all ages. Anyone can go out there and show their stuff … and win money!" The Zias first home game will be September 7 at 7:00 p.m. when they take on the Midwestern State Lady Indians. With a motivated mix of returning and new players for the 2001 season the Zias are sure to be crowd favorites. |
