HICKMAN, BRANDI BATES NAMED TO LSC SOUTH ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM Student-athletes were chosen for the All-Academic Team based upon academic and athletic success. Five players were selected for the LSC South All-Academic Team. Those five players, plus 29 other players, qualified for the LSC South Commissioner’s Honor Roll. ENMU senior post/forward Breanne Baker (5’9”, Sudan, TX/Sudan H.S.) qualified for the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Starters and key reserves with at least a 3.2 grade point average and 24 semester hours at an LSC member institution were eligible for the Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Hickman, a Communication major (Public Relations emphasis) at ENMU, started all 25 games for the Zias. She averaged 17.6 points per game to rank 5th in the LSC in scoring. She led the Zias with 166 rebounds, an average of 6.6 boards per game. She tied for second in the LSC in three- point shooting (41.7%, 58 of 139). Hickman concluded her four-year career at ENMU with 1,234 points to rank 5th on the Zias’ all-time scoring list. Bates, who is majoring in Accounting, averaged 7.3 points and 4.4 rebounds per game for the Zias. She was second on the team in blocked shots with 12, and also provided 42 assists and 19 steals. Bates scored 753 career points to finish 18th all-time at ENMU. Baker, an Early Childhood Development major, provided 3.5 points and 3.8 boards per game. She earned 12 assists and 10 steals. She played in 105 games in her ENMU career. Hickman, Bates and Baker have been successful in the classroom. Hickman has earned a 3.517 cumulative grade point average. Bates owns a 3.544 cumulative GPA and Baker has a 3.522 GPA. All three players were named to the LSC South Commissioner’s Honor Roll in 1998-99 and 1999-00. |
