GUERRIN SIGN LETTERS-OF-INTENT Villegas, 5’6”, has been a runner at Carlsbad H.S. the past four seasons. She has been a consistent runner at the high school level, and should help the Zias during her freshman season. She is one of several runners from the Carlsbad cross country program who have joined the ENMU men’s and women’s crosss country teams in recent years. “Jana will bring hard work and dedication to the Eastern New Mexico women’s cross country team. She exemplifies the work ethic and commitment I expect from the Zias,” Tisby said. Guerrin, 5’7”, was named All-State as a freshman and a sophomore at Moon Valley H.S. She was a cross country team captain as a junior, and has been a team captain for track and field this spring. She was ranked 18th in Arizona in cross country as a freshman and was ranked 17th during her sophomore season. She was ranked 18th in the Region last fall, and has qualified for State this year. Guerrin was selected to compete in the Junior Olympics program in 1997. “Theresa is the type of runner who will help elevate the Zia cross country team’s presence in the Lone Star Conference this coming season,” Tisby said. ENMU started its women’s cross country team during the 1996-97 academic year. The Zias compete in NCAA Division II and the Lone Star Conference, which has teams in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma.
