ENMU ATHLETICS TO HOST BASKETBALL MEET THE PLAYERS NIGHT
PORTALES, NM — The Eastern New Mexico University Department of Athletics will host Meet the Players Night for ENMU Basketball on Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 6:30 p.m. (MST) inside Greyhound Arena.

The event, which will be held on the main Arena floor, will give fans a chance to meet the Greyhounds and Zias who will represent ENMU in basketball this winter. Eastern’s Meet the Players Night will feature food, games and prizes.

The public is invited to attend. Admission is $3.00 per person. Individuals who plan to attend Meet the Players Night should RSVP to the ENMU Athletics Office at (505) 562-2153 by Monday, Nov. 12.

The Zias, under the direction of Head Coach Wayne Moore, now entering his 22nd year at ENMU, will open their schedule on Nov. 16 against Mesa State College at the Western State Tournament in Gunnison, Colo.

The Zias will be led by freshman post Tia Doss, who averaged 8.7 points and 5.8 rebounds last year, before receiving a medical redshirt due to a knee surgery.

The Greyhounds, led by Head Coach Shawn Scanlan, in his second year at ENMU, will begin the season on Nov. 19 at The Pit in Albuquerque, N.M. against Western New Mexico University. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. (MST).

The Hounds will be led by sophomore point guard Rudy Charles, who averaged 14.9 points, 3.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game in 2000-01. He was chosen LSC South Freshman-of-the-Year.
