ENMU ATHLETICS STARTS SPREADING THE NEWS
PORTALES, NM — As the Frank Sinatra classic song "New York, New York" says, "I want to be a part of it … New York, New York." ENMU Athletics has announced they'll be a part of the American Red Cross fundraising effort, donating all the proceeds from the 7:00 p.m. Zia volleyball game vs. West Texas A&M University on Tuesday, Oct. 23 to the American Red Cross to help with their disaster relief fund.

"Although we are far away from the tragedy that occurred on September 11, we are interconnected by our hearts and the stories of heroism that are coming from the events of that day," Interim Director of Athletics Mike Maguire said.

To support this fund raising effort, the athletics department will be giving away free "We Love NY" t-shirts and featuring the usual promotional activities including Zia Volleyball Karaoke, and the Green Monster.

The Department of Athletics will also be collecting donations at the game, all of which will be forwarded to the local chapter of the American Red Cross.

American Red Cross disaster assistance is provided to people in need without charge. This is made possible by voluntary donations of time, money and blood from the American people. To help provide support for people in need following this disaster as well as emerging human needs resulting from this tragedy, contributions can be made to the American Red Cross by calling 1-800-HELP NOW or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish). Hearing impaired callers can access TDD operators by calling 1-800-220-4095.

Contributions may also be sent to your local American Red Cross chapter (American Red Cross, Zia Chapter, 108 W. 2nd Street, Clovis, NM 88101) or to the American Red Cross, P.O.
