EASTERN NEW MEXICO MOVES UP TO #18 IN NCAA DIVISION II POLL
PORTALES, NM — Eastern New Mexico University’s football team, currently 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Lone Star Conference overall standings, moved ups two spots to #18 in the NCAA Division II Poll released today.

ENMU is the only LSC team ranked in this week’s Top 25. The Greyhounds received 220 points in the poll to rank ahead of Central Missouri State University, 4-0, which received 185 points to rank 19th. ENMU is directly behind 17th-ranked Kutztown University (Pa.), 3-0, which garnered 243 points.

The #1 team in the nation remains Delta State University (Miss.), with a 3-0 record, 696 points in the poll and 26 of 28 first place votes. The other first place votes went to North Dakota State University, ranked #2 with a 3-0 record and 672 points, and to Valdosta State University, ranked #4 with a 4-0 record and 613 points. The #3 team was the University of California at Davis, 3-0, which received 639 points.

ENMU defeated the University of Central Oklahoma, 57-35, on Sept. 22 in Edmond, Okla. The Greyhounds entered the game ranked #20 in the NCAA Division II Poll. ENMU has scored 200 points in its 4 games this season. The Greyhounds lead the LSC in scoring offense and are ranked second in the LSC in rushing offense and total offense.

The Greyhounds play their first LSC South game of the season on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Abilene Christian University. Kickoff against the Wildcats is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. (MST) in Abilene, Texas. ACU is currently 1-3 overall and 1-1 in the LSC overall standings.
