Dallas McMann is Named LSC South Hitter-of-the-Week
Senior Catcher Hits .500 in 3-2 Week for Greyhounds

TX – Eastern New Mexico University senior catcher Dallas
McMann (6-1, 215 lbs., Amarillo, TX/Randall HS) has been selected
Lone Star Conference South Division Hitter-of-the-Week. ENMU went 3-2
during the week, including 2-1 in LSC South games against West Texas A&M
University.
ENMU opened the week with a 5-4 win over Lubbock Christian University,
Mar. 31 at Greyhound Field. The Hounds lost at Wayland Baptist University,
19-9, on Apr. 1, after allowing 10 runs in the second inning. Eastern
also dropped a 17-8 decision to WTAMU in the first game of their LSC South
series, Apr. 4, after giving up nine runs in the fifth. ENMU gradually
took control of the series, as the Greyhounds defeated the Buffaloes,
10-7, in the second game and slipped past WTAMU, 4-3, in the final game.
McMann, who earned a .500 batting average (9 of 18) during the week, recorded
at least one hit and one run in all five games. He hit a solo home run
against Wayland Baptist, and was 4 for 4 with a homer and a double in
the first game of Eastern’s three-game series with WTAMU. He pounded
out a triple in the final game between ENMU and West Texas.
He scored eight runs and registered three RBIs during the week. He walked
three times, was hit by one pitch and achieved one stolen base. McMann’s
performance allowed him to improve his team-leading batting average .369.
He also leads the Greyhounds in runs (39), hits (55), doubles (16), home
runs (8), RBIs (24) and slugging percentage (.664).
ENMU improved to 10-32 on the season and to 3-15 in the LSC South. The
Greyhounds, who have struggled in close games, are 2-10 in one-run games
and 3-15 in games decided by two runs or less. McMann helped Eastern register
both of its one-run victories last week.
The Greyhounds return to action on Tuesday, Apr. 8, at Texas Tech University.
Game time is set for 6 p.m. (MST). Eastern will be back at Greyhound Field
on Wednesday, Apr. 9, to host New Mexico Highlands University. First pitch
is scheduled for 6 p.m. (MST).
