Funk is on Second Team, Campbell named Honorable Mention

PORTALES, NM - Eastern New Mexico University freshman forward Megan Dozier (5'4", Midland, TX/Midland HS) has been named First Team All-Lone Star Conference in voting by the LSC's 10 head coaches. ENMU freshman midfielder Anna Funck (5'4", Amarillo, TX/Amarillo HS) was chosen Second Team All-LSC and sophomore defender Pam Campbell (5'6", Sierra Vista, AZ/Cochise Community College) received Honorable Mention. ENMU, in its first season of intercollegiate soccer, was 3-12 overall and 2-7 (9th place) in the LSC.

Dozier was Eastern's leading scorer with six goals and one assist for 13 points. She scored ENMU's first-ever goal 27:30 into a 3-2 season-opening loss to College of the Southwest on Aug. 30. Later in the year, she scored both goals in a 2-1 overtime win over LSC opponent Texas Woman's University in the Zias' first-ever conference game (Oct. 3). Dozier also scored two goals in a 6-2 LSC loss to Angelo State University on Oct. 18.

Funck started the season in an attacking midfield role, but spent most of the year as a defensive midfielder due to a pair of season-ending injuries to ENMU defenders. Even so, she tied for second on the team in scoring, with 3 goals (6 points). She recorded her first two goals in Eastern's first-ever win, a 4-0 triumph over Wayland Baptist University on Sept. 6. Funck was the first player signed by Head Coach Travis McCorkle this past spring.

Campbell was a steady defender for the Zias all season She was one of only two players to start all 15 games. She blocked several shots during the year, and recorded an assist on Eastern's only goal against the University of Northern Colorado in a 5-1 loss on Sept. 14. She previously played one season at Cochise Community College in Arizona.
