Olivia Boan Named to LSC South Commissioner's Honor Roll

PORTALES, NM - Eastern New Mexico University sophomore defensive specialist Olivia Boan (5'7", Portales, NM/Portales HS) has been named to the Lone Star Conference South Division Commissioner's Honor Roll for volleyball, the LSC announced today. A total of 19 players were named to the LSC South Commissioner's Honor Roll with six of those players selected for the LSC South All-Academic Team. ENMU did not have any All-Academic team selections this season.

Student-athletes qualified for the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll by earning at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average with 24 or more semester hours at their current college or university. The LSC sports information directors chose the All-Academic Team based upon the academic and athletic success of players on the Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Boan played in all 115 games and all 31 matches. She recorded 273 digs for an average of 2.37 digs per game. She also provided 27 service aces and 23 assists, while providing solid defense on the back row. In two seasons at ENMU, she has played in 165 games and 48 matches, while earning 306 digs. She has helped the Zias achieve a combined record of 36-27.

The Zias finished the 2003 season with a 16-15 overall record for Eastern's 15th consecutive winning record in 17 season under Head Coach Mike Maguire. ENMU tied for second place in the LSC South with a 7-3 record. The Zias qualified for the LSC Tournament for the 13th time since ENMU joined the conference in 1984.
