PORTALES, N.M. — Eastern New Mexico University sophomore midfielder Anna Funck (Amarillo, TX/Amarillo HS) has been named Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week, it was announced Tuesday, Sept. 21 by the conference office. It is the second time that the midfielder has been honored by the conference, the first coming the week of Sept. 9, 2003.

Funck tallied two goals and two assists in the Zias’ 6-0 win over the University of Texas at Permian Basin on Saturday, Sept. 18, following up a 3-1 victory over the College of the Southwest on Friday, Sept. 17. With the two victories, the Zias evened up their record at 4-4-0 on the season.

The six points were a career high for Funck, who now has three goals and four assists on the year. She ranks second on the team in both departments, trailing classmate Megan Dozier (So., F, Midland, TX/Midland HS) who has five goals and four assists on the season.
