Greyhounds Rally from 7-2 Deficit with Seven Runs in Ninth to Start Double-Header Sweep of Angelo State
Green's Three-Run Homer Completes Comeback; Hounds Win 14-8 in Second Game

SAN ANGELO, TEXAS — Eastern New Mexico University trailed 2-0 after six innings and 7-2 after eight, but the Greyhounds put seven runs across the plate in the ninth, to rally past Angelo State University, 9-7, in the first game of a Lone Star Conference double-header, Apr. 8 at Foster Field. Brian Green (Jr., C, Fountain Hills, AZ/Central Arizona College) drove in the final three runs with a homer over the left field fence. ENMU won the second game 14-8, as the Tyler Brown (Jr., C, Aurora, CO/Arapahoe CC) went 4 for 4 with three runs and three RBIs.

The double-header sweep allowed ENMU to improve to 18-18, including 4-2 in the LSC South. The Hounds reached the .500 mark for the first time since they were 8-8 after 16 games. Angelo State fell to 18-19, 3-3 in the LSC South.

Kellen Smith (Fr., RHP, Amarillo, TX/Randall HS), 1-0, earned his first collegiate win in the opener, as he allowed only an unearned run in the final two innings. Starting pitcher Trevor Davis (Sr., RHP, Evergreen, CO/Evergreen HS) threw the first seven innings, and gave up six runs, while earning six strikeouts. David Swinconos (Jr., LHP, Lubbock, TX/Frenship HS), 3-2, recorded the win in the second game. He pitched into the seventh and struck out four batters before giving way to Smith.
