LAS VEGAS , N.M. — Sophomore designated player Tori Picazo (McKinney, TX/Western Texas College) earned 6 hits in 8 at bats, and concluded the season with a school record .486 batting average, as Eastern New Mexico University ended the season with a double-header sweep of in-state rival New Mexico Highlands University, winning 10-6 and 10-5 on Tuesday, Apr. 19. The Zias completed their schedule with a 20-29 record, up from 11-36 in 2004.

Picazo's impressive average broke the previous ENMU record of .470, set by Jennifer Doolittle in 1998. Picazo ended the 2005 season with 67 hits in 138 at bats. She led the Zias with seven home runs.

She didn't get a homer in Tuesday's sweep at NMHU, but four other Zias knocked the ball out of the yard. Other homers were earned by Elizabeth Whipkey (Fr., 1B, Orange, CA/Villa Park HS), Adriana Reyes (Jr., 3B, El Paso, TX/El Paso CC) and Tina Whitt (Jr., C/DP, Riverside, CA/Midland College).
