After taking a one-run lead into the seventh, the Wildcats sent 12 batters to the plate and scored seven runs on six hits for a 15-7 lead. The Zias didn’t go quietly, scoring three runs in the bottom of the inning, highlighted by Tori Picazo’s (So., DH, McKinney, TX/Western Texas College) sixth homer of the season, a two-run shot.

Both teams’ bats quieted down in the second game. The Wildcats broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the top of the fifth, then Picazo hit her second homer of the day in the bottom of the inning to re-tie the game at 3-3.

With two outs in the sixth, Jessica Nocas (Jr., SS, Riverside, CA/Midland College) singled in Picazo from second, giving the Zias their first lead of the game, 4-3. An RBI double by Adina Taul (Jr., CF, Placentia, CA/Midland College) kept the inning alive, followed by two-RBI single from Jordan for a 7-3 lead.

Natasha Lindsey (Jr., RHP, Auburn, WA/Tusculum College) held the Wildcats scoreless in the final two innings for the win. She improved her pitching record to 4-4.
