ENMU Sweeps Panhandle State with Pair of Run Rule Wins
Nocas is 5 for 5 in Game #2, Finishes Double-Header 7 for 11 with 6 RBIs

PORTALES, N.M. — Junior shortstop Jessica Nocas (Riverside, CA/Midland College) went 7 for 9, including 5 for 5 in the second game, as Eastern New Mexico University swept a double-header from Oklahoma Panhandle State University on Wednesday, April 6, winning both games 12-4 on the run rule in six innings. The non-conference wins at Zia Softball Field improved ENMU to 17-22 overall. OPSU fell to 8-29 on the season.

Nocas hit three doubles, including two in the second game. In the opener, she scored three times and drove in two runs, then crossed the plate once and earned four RBIs in the second game. Tori Picazo (Jr., DP/RF, McKinney, TX/Western Texas College) was 4 for 6 on the day, with four runs and two RBIs.

Junior pitchers Patricia Gonzales (Los Angeles, CA/Western Texas College) and Natasha Lindsey (Auburn, WA/Tusculum College) each threw a complete game. Gonzales (5-7) allowed five hits and one earned run in the opener. Lindsey (5-4) gave up nine hits and two earned runs in the second game. She also struck out four Lady Aggies.

ENMU returns to action on Friday, Apr. 8, with a Lone Star Conference double-header at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Game time is set for 12 p.m. MDT. The Zias and the TexAnns will play a second double-header on Saturday, Apr. 9, starting at 11 a.m. MDT.
